Intelligent Scan. Scanning in ABBYY Scan Station is carried out in batches. The program divides the scanned package into documents according to the specified parameters: the number of pages, empty separator pages or barcodes. Processing settings are stored in profiles called "batch types". Each profile includes settings for scanning and imaging, assembly and export, which allows you to organize work with documents of various types as simply as possible. Suppose a company needs to scan contracts, invoices, and magazine articles. Then, for each type of document, we set up our own profile:
- Profile 1: scan contracts in black and white, collect them into documents using registration barcodes and save them to the document management system;
-Profile 2: scan invoices in black and white without splitting them by document and send them to the ABBYY FlexiCapture system for recognition;
- Profile 3: Scan magazine articles in 600 dpi color and save to SharePoint.
Thanks to the profiles, the preparation of the program for the input of documents of each type is done with one click of the mouse.
Image correction. ABBYY Scan Station contains a wide range of image correction tools, such as cropping, rotating, filling, dewarping, and inverting. This allows you to process the document to improve the quality of recognition (if further recognition is planned) or bring it into the required form for saving in the archive. So, for example, filling a part of an image with a solid color allows you to hide confidential information if it is contained in the document.
Compatibility with popular scanner models and extensive export options. ABBYY Scan Station supports most document scanners, TWAIN, ISIS and WIA interfaces. The program saves scanned images in PDF, TIFF, JPEG, JPEG2000, BMP, PNG, PCX, DCX formats and exports them to disk folders, which makes it easy to redirect documents to electronic archives and any other information systems, as well as send them for further recognition to ABBYY Recognition Server and ABBYY FlexiCapture.
Single interface for all corporate scanners. Very often different models of scanners are used in the same company. Installing ABBYY Scan Station on all workstations equipped with scanners will allow you to process paper documents with the same settings, which is necessary to create a unified electronic archive.
